Business access during 7th Ave. construction
The City of North St. Paul and its contractors are continuing to tweak the traffic control/detour route for the 7th Ave. utility and street improvement project. The City's contractor has opted to have a hard close on 7th Ave. so they can get the project completed sooner. We understand that this is causing some confusion and frustration for our business owners and their patrons.
Access to downtown businesses from Margaret St.
The preferred access to the downtown business district is from Margaret Street. Customers can go west on 7th Ave. from Margaret St. or to Seppala Blvd. from Margaret St. for business access. The 7th Ave. construction has also reduced available parking. Please use the municipal lots off Seppala Blvd. or the new lot off Margaret St. (behind the former K&J catering building).
Access to downtown businesses from North St. Paul Drive/4th Ave.
The closure is located just west of the post office and extends to past the VFW. There is also a closure along Helen St. from Seppala Blvd. to 4th Ave. The preferred access to businesses and services located on that section of the project is from North St. Paul Drive to Seppala Blvd. or from 2nd St. to 4th Ave. to Seppala Blvd. Businesses on the south side of 7th can access their locations from the alley off of Helen St.
