Veterans Park, located at 2438 Margaret St. in North St. Paul along with the Nathan Hale Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are hosting the Wreaths Across America (WAA) Mobile Education Exhibit on Thursday, June 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A ceremonial wreath laying will take place at 10:00 a.m., and a special Welcome Home Vietnam Vets tribute will take place at 1:00 p.m.
The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit features interactive exhibits, and short films to educate visitors about the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. “The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, Wreaths Across America. “Over the last two years we feel this exhibit has taken on even more meaning by providing the opportunity for people to safely participate in something that is both educational and inspiring, while supporting and giving back to the communities it visits.”
Throughout the event, educational opportunities for all ages will include coloring pages, craft activities on how to create a wreath, as well as how to identify the symbolism of a Wreaths Across America wreath.
Wreaths Across America is the non-profit organization best known for placing wreaths on veteran’s headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. Since 2015, Nathan Hale Chapter DAR has partnered with WAA to place thousands of wreaths on veteran’s graves at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
