The City of North St. Paul is hiring for paid-on-call firefighters
North St. Paul is currently accepting applications for Paid-Per-Call Firefighters. We accept a wide range of candidates with little to no training or those who have any or all required certifications to be a firefighter. Candidates must be able to respond to the North Saint Paul Fire Station within five (5) minutes from their residence. Candidates will have to complete an application, a background check, a medical evaluation, and an agility test prior to being hired. Candidates that are hired without the required certifications will attend paid training that includes: Firefighter I, II, Hazardous Materials, and Emergency Medical classes that are provided through the fire department. A pension plan is also included with vesting after serving a minimum of ten years. In 2020, the Fire Department responded to over 1,450 calls for service, 78% of which were EMS-related.
