The City of North St. Paul is committed to honest budgeting, responsible spending and financial transparency. In this spirit, the City has partnered with OpenGov to provide it's citizens and stakeholders access to the Financial Transparency Portal.
The Transparency Portal was created to provide visibility, openness, and accountability to North St. Paul's operations. This web based application provides details about the City's finances, budget, and development projects in an interactive and easy to use platform. Our goal is to enhance access to information and increase public engagement.
OpenGov was founded in 2012 by Zac Bookman, Joe Lonsdale, and technologists from Stanford University, who studied government budgeting in the aftermath of the Great Recession. They observed dedicated public servants struggle against outdated technology that prevented them from accessing timely spending information and communicating their priorities to citizens and elected officials. Believing there was a better way, the team set out to build a cloud-based solution to power more effective and accountable government. Today over 1,000 public agencies nationwide form a growing network leveraging OpenGov to achieve better budgeting, performance, communications, reporting, and open data that ultimately result in better outcomes for the public.
