Nominate a Citizen



Each year the City will honor North Saint Paul Humanitarians. The program will honor outstanding achievements by citizens in 3 categories. Those categories are:

  • Legacy Award
  • Community Service Award
  • (1) Youth Individual or Youth Group
  • (1) Adult Individual or Adult Group
  • Good Neighbor Award

Award Criteria:

  • Legacy Award – A person who possesses a record of notable achievements, has demonstrated community leadership, possesses and exhibits high ethical standards, has a history of involvement in a variety of community activities and/or organizations, has illustrated on-going support for community projects.   Persons who have passed away may be considered for this award.
  • Community Service Award – Volunteer service activities which positively impact the enrichment and needs of North Saint Paul Community Members. Two award will be given out under this category: (1) Youth Individual or Youth Group and (1) Adult Individual or Adult Group. The youth award is designs for persons 18 years of age or younger. The adult award for persons 19 years of age or older.
  • Good Neighbor Award – The Good Neighbor award will recognize citizens who take pride in where they live. Neighbors who look after each other create a sense of community and a synergy that leads others to do their part as well, in their neighborhood and in the City as a whole. Whether it’s someone who has stepped up to a leadership role, who has always been there when an extra set of hands is needed, or who is just keeping an eye out and making sure that suspicious activity does not go unreported, we want to hear about them! Nominee must not be paid for the action(s) being nominated.

Criteria pertaining to all categories:

  • Self-nomination is not allowed.
  • No residency requirement, however volunteer work must directly impact the North Saint Paul Community.
  • Group / Individual must help the overall good of North Saint Paul, not just an organization/church they work for / belong to.
  • Program Timeline:
    Nominations received by April 10, 2020
    Award Ceremony held on May 19, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall
