2375 Highway 36, Cedarview Commons – Homicide

On Friday, April 26, 2019 at about 6:58 P.M., North St. Paul Police Officers responded to 2375 Highway 36, the Cedarview Commons apartment complex, to check the welfare of an adult female. The Reporting Person stated she hadn’t been able to make contact with her sister-in-law for a period of time. Officers found an apparently untouched delivered meal at the individual's apartment door.

There was no response to Officers' knocking. A maintenance person let Officers into the apartment. Officers found a deceased adult female inside. The Victim appeared to have sustained multiple wounds from a sharp instrument. The Victim was identified as Gabrielle Dearing, age 46.

The Minnesota BCA responded to process the crime scene and is assisting with the investigation. Adeyemi Dearing Jr., age 25, son of the victim, was later taken into custody by Saint Paul Police in the 600 Jenks Avenue block, after a tip from relatives. Adeyemi Dearing Jr. was booked at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center for probable cause homicide.

At this time, no one else is being sought in connection with the Victim's death. Anyone with any information may contact North St. Paul Police at 651-747-2406. The case remains under investigation.

Respectfully,

Tom
