The City of North St. Paul welcomes Scott Duddeck as City Manager. At the April 16th City Council meeting, City Council unanimously voted to promote Scott Duddeck from the Interim City Manager / Fire Chief to the Permanent City Manager position.

Duddeck will be retiring as the Fire Chief, effective April 22, 2019 after 34 years of service in the Fire Department and has appointed Deputy Fire Chief Jason Mallinger as the Interim Fire Chief effective April 22, 2019. Duddeck will remain a strong support system for all departments and employees by being very hands on and actively involved.  “I look forward to working together with staff and the City Council, and will continue to promote my strong work ethic, nurture positive relationships and create opportunity for many great projects that will significantly benefit the community,” said Duddeck.

In addition to his role in the Fire Department he often had dual roles within the city. In September of 1991 he served as Superintendent of Public Works. Duddeck was promoted to Fire Chief and Community Services Manager in 2001. He also served as Public Works Director from 2011 to 2014.
