Did you know that the cardboard you recycle at the curb goes to a local paper mill? That’s right, your boxes end up at WestRock in St. Paul. The mill turns used corrugated boxes, and other recyclable paper and paperboard packaging collected from homes and businesses, into new packaging.
Your boxes provide a critical raw material for the mill. Each year, the mill produces 365,000 tons of 100% recycled content paperboard. This paperboard consists of both corrugated cardboard, which is used to make new corrugated boxes, and coated recycled board, which is used in consumer product packaging like cereal and tissue boxes.
The mill was established in 1908 and employs 380 people. For more information visit www.ramseyrecycles.com.
