Learn to plant and prune your trees.

***Tree Planting Class Update: The tree planting class that was scheduled for April 16 was cancelled and will now be part of the Pruner Training Class on May 1.Tree planting will offer citizens how to properly plant their new trees and how to care for these trees when they are younger so they can survive to maturity. Topics will cover best planting practices, mulching, staking, watering, and light pruning to ensure the good health of your trees. What to bring: Dress for the weather, sturdy, closed-toe shoes, gloves optional but suggested.

A citizen pruner training class is being offered to help teach residents when to prune their trees, how to make proper cuts, and how to reduce future issues in tree canopy. The class will be help partially indoors, but we will focus on field pruning to help you feel more comfortable. After this course, the city will host pruning events so you can practice and help care for the new public trees in your community.
